Network Outage due to DDoS Attacks - Greensboro Data Center
Incident Report for Carolina Digital Phone Inc
Resolved
At 5:05 AM this morning in our Greensboro, NC data center we experienced an excessive amount of non-US attacks on our core Juniper Router causing the router to go into a protective mode and shut down all traffic for approximately 3 minutes and 26 seconds. All traffic was restored and full BGP routing was restored within a short period of time. Our senior Juniper engineer is investigating the originating inbound traffic and has advised us that all of the traffic was coming from China. We continue to block massive areas of China and will continue to blackhole their malicious attempts to penetrate our network. In 21+ years we have never had an attack on our network that was successful in causing any damage or accessing our servers.
